The human eye is constantly exposed to sunlight and artificial light and recognizes wavelengths between 380 and 780 nm (visible spectrum). Generally, the energy emitted in the visible, infrared and ultraviolet spectra is harmless. However, it can reach potentially harmful levels, both in frequency and intensity, causing damage to the visual mechanism, particularly the cornea, lens, and retina. When exposed to UVA radiation, the lens generates reactive oxygen species (ROS), molecules with high oxidative potential. High levels of ROS, damage the ocular structure causing it to become opaque. Constant exposure to UV radiation and blue light, and the resulting oxidative stress to which the lens is subjected, leads to cataract formation. Lacrisun ANTIOX is an antioxidant ophthalmic solution based on Riboflavin sodium phosphate 0.05%, Vitamin E TPGS, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), amino acids and hyaluronic acid. Preservative-free. MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a naturally occurring molecule in the body with potent antioxidant activity as well as scavenger of free radicals and prevention of formation against free radicals and ROS. Riboflavin is a molecule belonging to the vitamin B complex capable of absorbing the wavelengths most harmful to ocular structures (300-450 nm) as well as having a strong antioxidant action. Due to its characteristics, Riboflavin protects the lens from the negative action of UV and blue light. Vitamin E TPGS acts as a carrier against Riboflavin, also is a potent antioxidant with protective action of the tear on the lipid layer with anti-inflammatory activity described in the literature. The amino acids in Lacrisun ANTIOX perform the function of epithelial protection, ocular surface nourishment, as well as promoting corneal repair. The hyaluronic acid present in the formulation promotes the resolution of inflammation through its ability to lubricate, moisturize and stabilize the tear film.
Lacrisun ANTIOX has been clinically proven to counteract the stiffening of the lens caused by photo-oxidative action, slowing down the aging process, as well as protecting the ocular lens from photo-damageoxidants contributing to the maintenance of its total antioxidant capacity.
Lacrisun ANTIOX counteracts the formation of free radicals, molecules responsible for the opacification of the lens.
Lacrisun ANTIOX can be used by contact lens wearers.

Preservation

Immediately after use close the bottle: the content can be used up to 90 days after first opening. Store at a temperature below 30°C.
